South Africa completed a commanding 10-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second Test at Cape Town on Monday, sealing a 2-0 series win.

Despite a determined fight from Pakistan in their second innings, the hosts easily chased down a target of 58 late on the fourth day to finish the series unbeaten.

Pakistan, forced to follow on after trailing by 421 runs on the first innings, managed to reach 478 all out. Captain Shan Masood led the charge with a resolute 145 runs, and Mohammad Rizwan (31*) and Salman Agha (31*) provided late resistance.

However, it wasn't enough as South Africa, who had already qualified for the World Test Championship final, knocked off the modest target comfortably.

Earlier, on the fourth day, Pakistan had been battling at 398 for five following on, still 23 runs behind South Africa’s first innings total of 615.

They had been severely depleted due to the injury of batter Saim Ayub, who fractured his ankle on the opening day.

In the morning session, South Africa claimed two wickets, including Khurram Shahzad for 18 and Kamran Ghulam for 28.

After taking the new ball post-lunch, they added two more crucial wickets, including Masood, who was dismissed leg before wicket by Kwena Maphaka. Saud Shakeel (23) followed soon after.

South Africa’s strong performance in the first innings, with centuries from Ryan Rickelton (259), Temba Bavuma (106), and Kyle Verreynne (100), had set a huge foundation.

Despite Pakistan’s spirited response in their second innings, the result was never in doubt, with South Africa sealing the win with ease.
