T20 World Cup 2024: Pak-Ind match ticket prices reach whopping Rs5.6 million

The ticket prices for the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match in the T20 World Cup have reached unprecedented heights, leaving cricket fans stunned.

The price of a ticket for the Diamond Club has reached a staggering $20,000 (approximately Rs5.6 million), while the general stand tickets are being sold for $2,750 (almost Rs800,000).

The exorbitant ticket prices have drawn criticism from cricket fans, who think the International Cricket Council (ICC) intends to put profits ahead of the game promotion.

Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi has also slammed the global cricket body for selling expensive tickets. 

“Shocked to learn that ICC is selling tickets for Diamond Club at $20000 per seat for the #indvspak WC game. The WC in the US is for game expansion and fan engagement, not a means to make profits on gate collections. $2750 for a ticket It’s just #notcricket #intlcouncilofcrooks,” he said in a post on X.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I World Cup 2024 is set to kick start from June 1 in the United States (US) and West Indies.

The arch-rivals Pakistan and India will lock horns at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9.
