"This moment changes everything:" Shaheen Afridi pens heartfelt message for newborn son

Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi shared a heartfelt message, expressing his joy and gratitude after welcoming his newborn baby boy.

The 24-year-old cricketer took to Instagram to share a picture of a baby holding Afridi's finger.

"This moment changes everything!" he titled his message.

"My heart is full and my life just got a whole lot better. 24/08/2024 will always be special to us. Welcome to the world my son, Aliyaar Afridi."

The pace ace also extended his thanks to his wife, Ansha Afridi, for "all the pain and suffering she had to endure".

"She is literally the support system of our little family," Afridi added.

Afridi also expressed his appreciation for the love and prayers coming their way after the birth of his little one.

"Remember my little family in your prayers."

The post has received thousands of likes and congratulations from fans and fellow cricketers.

It's pertinent to mention here that the Pakistani star welcomed his son on Saturday (August 24).

The left-arm fast bowler received the good news of becoming a father when he was en route to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for the match.

Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot in a beautiful daytime private ceremony in Karachi on February 3 last year.

Later on September 19, 2023, the left-arm fast bowler took his wife home after a grand rukhsati (seeing off) ceremony hosted by Afridis at a local hotel in the metropolis. The valima was held on September 21.

Anha is the daughter of iconic Pakistani player, Shahid Afridi. The couple were engaged for two years ago before tying the knot.
