Senior Pakistani journalist Mubashir Luqman went viral on social media on Wednesday after making allegations of match-fixing against Babar Azam following Pakistan's exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group stage.
Luqman has leveled serious accusations against Babar Azam, claiming that the Pakistan captain received expensive gifts in exchange for losing international matches. These suspicions arose after Pakistan's unexpected loss to the USA and a narrow victory against Ireland, leading to another early World Cup exit.
Luqman specifically mentioned that Babar's Audi E-Tron, which the cricketer claimed was a gift from his brother, was actually acquired from questionable bookies. Additionally, Luqman alleged that Babar received apartments in Australia and Dubai as part of these illicit transactions.
A Twitter user named Cric Mate posted a video of Luqman speaking on a podcast, where he made these allegations against Babar Azam.
