"Have a look where Virat walks. Virat's walked one whole pitch over to his right and instigated that confrontation. No doubt in my mind whatsoever."

Virat Kohli found himself at the center of controversy once again, this time during the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, after a confrontation with Australian debutant Sam Konstas.
The tension erupted on day one of the match when Kohli and Konstas bumped shoulders after the 10th over. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting wasted no time in commenting on the incident, stating that Kohli had instigated the altercation by walking over to Konstas and initiating contact.
“Look at the way Virat walks. He walked a whole pitch over to his right and instigated that confrontation—no doubt in my mind whatsoever,” Ponting said on the Seven Network. He also speculated that the umpires and match referee would closely review the incident.
The encounter came moments after paceman Mohammed Siraj had words with Konstas, who had been riling up the Indian team with his fiery approach during his Test debut. Following the shoulder bump, Konstas appeared surprised, and Kohli reacted as though he blamed the Australian debutant for the incident.
Usman Khawaja, watching the exchange from the sidelines, quickly stepped in and placed an arm around Kohli, attempting to calm the situation.
Despite the tensions, Konstas kept his composure, making an impressive debut by attacking India’s top bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, who had been in outstanding form, taking 21 wickets in the series’ first three Tests.
