“Mardon ko hamary wajood se he khouf aata hai,” says transgender Shahzadi Rai

In a demonstration for fundamental rights, the transgender community organised the second Sindh Moorat March at Karachi's Frere Hall on November 19.

Advocating for improved access to education, healthcare, and employment, participants gathered to amplify their voices and foster inclusivity.

However, the event took a distressing turn when transgender activist Shahzadi Rai, who also works as a councillor with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, faced harassment from unidentified men during the march. 

Rai, visibly frustrated, spoke out against the discrimination, highlighting the challenges the transgender community continues to endure.
