Israeli media reported that at least six Israeli soldiers have taken their own lives, while thousands are seeking psychological treatment amid the IDF's prolonged military offensives in Gaza and Lebanon.
According to sources, the actual number of suicides within the Israeli military could be higher, as the authorities have yet to release official statistics. Officials have announced plans to disclose the data by the end of the year.
Thousands of soldiers are reportedly affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with many visiting psychologists and seeking mental health treatment at clinics.
An Israeli media report also emphasised that the number of soldiers grappling with psychological issues surpasses those killed in the ongoing military Israeli offensive.
Despite the orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to cease military operations in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has intensified its attacks on the enclave while simultaneously imposing an aid blockade on the starving Palestinians.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 44,757 with more than 104,008 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
