Abu Dhabi celebrated New Year’s Eve with a mesmerising fireworks display that lasted over 50 minutes, earning a Guinness World Record.
The stunning event, held during the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, featured a dazzling aerial art performance with 6,000 drones, captivating spectators for 20 minutes.
According to Gulf News, the festivities began at 6 pm with intermittent displays, culminating in the record-breaking fireworks at midnight to usher in 2025.
Social media was flooded with videos showcasing the breathtaking spectacle, as the sky lit up in vibrant colors and patterns.
This isn’t the first time the Sheikh Zayed Festival achieved global recognition. In 2023, it set a world record for a 40-minute fireworks display on New Year’s Eve and created the world’s largest drone-formed logo in the sky.
Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also hosted a grand fireworks display at the Governor’s House in Karachi to break the previous UAE record.
The event featured 45 minutes of vibrant fireworks, drawing a large crowd to witness the city’s most spectacular celebration.
While many were thrilled by the breathtaking display, some raised concerns over the environmental impact of such large-scale fireworks.
