"New phase of recovery:" Britain’s Princess Kate says she is cancer free

Britain's Princess of Wales, a former cancer patient, has announced the end of her chemotherapy treatment and is now prioritising lifestyle changes to stay cancer-free.

The 40-year-old princess, known by her maiden name, Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer after an abdominal surgery in January. Following her diagnosis, Kate retreated from public life to focus on her treatment, including chemotherapy.

She appeared once in June at the annual military parade to commemorate King Charles's birthday. She also attended the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Kate shared the positive announcement on Monday. The Prince and Princess of Wales' Instagram account shared a video along with Kate's message.

The video showed the wife of the heir to the throne in good health as she enjoyed quality time with her three children on a stroll through the fields.

Kensington Palace did not disclose any further details about her illness or treatment, but the princess is expected to attend several engagements later this year.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” her message read.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

Kate reflected on the challenges of cancer treatment, saying that it "is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,"

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything," she added.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."

According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, and his wife Queen Camilla welcomed the news of Kate Middleton's recovery.

The Prince and Princess of Wales expressed their gratitude for the global support they received during this challenging phase of their lives.
