A Chinese trader, Wang Feiqi, converted to Islam after reciting the shahada in the presence of officials from Afghanistan's Balkh province.

Following his conversion, Wang Feiqi adopted the name Abdullah Muhammad, as reported by Afghan media.

The Chinese businessman worked closely with the Afghan government on various construction projects.

During his interactions with Afghan officials, he developed an interest in Islam, which eventually led him to study the religion further and embrace it.

Afghan officials warmly welcomed Wang Feiqi into Islam, offering prayers for his well-being and future endeavours.

This is not the first instance of foreigners converting to Islam in Afghanistan.

In August, an American tourist named Andreas embraced Islam after meeting Afghan government officials at a checkpoint in Jilrez, Maidan Wardak province. Inspired by his interactions with the officials, Andreas decided to learn more about Islam, ultimately leading to his conversion.

Afghanistan has seen several similar incidents over the years. In 2007, two US soldiers stationed at Bagram Air Base embraced Islam and later married in Afghanistan.
