An elderly Palestinian man offered funeral prayer for his sons, who were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
The man, who was injured in the same airstrike that killed his sons, prayed for his deceased children while sitting on a hospital bed.
The Israeli army targeted a residential building in the Bureij refugee camp, killing four members of the same family who had taken shelter there.
A video of the Palestinian father surfaced on social media, showing him mourning and bidding farewell to his sons who died in the attack.
The man bore several injuries across his body, with both his hands and legs wrapped in bandages, and his shirt stained with blood.
The Nuseirat refugee camp on Friday in central Gaza was also struck by an Israeli airstrike, claiming the lives of five Palestinians.
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli occupation forces have killed at least 61 people in the past 48 hours, leaving numerous Palestinians injured.
The Israeli army has wiped out hundreds of Palestinian families from the civil registry of Gaza during its relentless military onslaught, targeting innocent civilians under the pretext of destroying Hamas.
A recent investigation by the Associated Press “identified at least 60 Palestinian families where at least 25 people were killed — sometimes four generations from the same bloodline — in bombings between October and December, the deadliest and most destructive period of the war.“
Despite the orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to cease military operations in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has intensified its attacks on the enclave while simultaneously imposing an aid blockade on the starving Palestinians.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 40,939 with more than 93,534 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
