US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sparked global outrage, as the two reaffirmed their controversial plans for Gaza. A video of their interaction also drew strong reactions on social media.

In the viral video, Trump was seen pulling a chair for Netanyahu as he sat down to sign a document.

Netizens described Trump's gesture as humiliating for the US, while others saw it as a sign of his close relationship with the Israeli prime minister.

"Trump never pulls a chair for his wife," an X user reacted.

"Trump politely pulling out a chair for Netanyahu—because mass murderers deserve VIP treatment, right?" a pro-Palestinian account commented.

"Trump waited for Netanyahu to sit, then personally pulled the chair closer to the table for him… From the President of the United States to a waiter for an Israeli official!" another post read.

Netanyahu’s visit to the White House was met with protests from pro-Palestinian supporters, who condemned Israel’s genocide in Gaza and urged President Trump to stop supplying weapons to the IDF.

Demonstrators chanted slogans for "Free Palestine" as Netanyahu became the first foreign leader to visit the US after Trump’s assumption of office, highlighting the deepening ties between the two nations.

While US President Donald Trump’s remarks about the "takeover" of Gaza sparked global outrage, the United Nations also sounded the alarm over his controversial statement, emphasising the need to "avoid ethnic cleansing."

During a UN committee meeting, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated, "In the search for solutions, we must not make the problem worse. It is vital to stay true to the bedrock of international law. It is essential to avoid any form of ethnic cleansing."

He also underscored the importance of pursuing a two-state solution for Palestine.

European countries, along with the Arab allies of the US in the Middle East, strongly condemned Trump’s remarks, particularly his suggestion of removing Palestinians from Gaza to build a riviera in the region.
