A heart-wrenching video has emerged from northern Gaza, showing a young Palestinian girl's humble desire for a pair of slippers.
"I want neither food nor drink, I want slippers to wear because these are my sister's slippers, and she doesn't have any other pair to wear," she said, highlighting the dire situation faced by children and adults alike in the besieged enclave.
The ongoing blockade by Israeli occupation forces has led to a severe shortage of basic necessities like slippers, food, and drink.
Earlier, The World Health Organisation (WHO) warned of a growing malnutrition crisis in Gaza.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that 8,000 children under five have been treated for acute malnutrition and a "significant proportion of the population faces catastrophic hunger and famine-like conditions".
The restrictions on food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies have exacerbated the crisis.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) directed Israel to ensure basic services and humanitarian aid delivery in the besieged enclave.
The conflict has resulted in devastating losses, with over 40,000 Palestinians killed, including 16,456 children and 11,000 women.
The United Nations (UN) reported that two-thirds of buildings across the Gaza Strip have been "damaged or destroyed".
Israeli attacks have also killed at least 270 aid workers, including seven World Central Kitchen employees in April.
