The Israeli media reported that a breakthrough in the ongoing negotiations in Qatar for a ceasefire in Gaza had been achieved, but it has not been revealed officially. However, important points of the deal surfaced in the media, which would be implemented in three phases.

Israeli media claimed in a report that a Gaza ceasefire agreement is close and that the agreement will be implemented in three phases.

According to the report, the first phase of the deal proposed the release of 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinians, and Israel will release 50 for each female soldier hostage and 30 Palestinians for the remaining hostages.

Israeli media also claimed in its report that the Israeli army will also evacuate the Philadelphia Corridor, a crossing on the Egypt-Gaza border, in the first phase of the deal.

The second phase of the ceasefire deal will begin 16 days after the ceasefire, in which there will be talks about the release of the remaining prisoners and soldiers.

Israeli media stated that the third phase will discuss long-term measures, including talks about the resettlement of Gaza and the formation of a new government.

However, a spokesman in Qatar’s Foreign Ministry confirmed in a press conference that negotiations were ongoing and the authorities are “close to an agreement and serious negotiations are underway,” but nothing can be said definitively until a ceasefire is announced.

Moreover, recently elected US president Donald Trump was optimistic about a Gaza ceasefire agreement this week but also threatened before the agreement.
