Disappointed at not having daughter, man strangles newborn son to death

A man allegedly killed his newborn son because he desired a daughter in India's Madhya Pradesh.

As reported by Indian media, the man was disappointed at not having a daughter.

The accused, identified as Anil Uikey, was under the influence of alcohol when he assaulted his wife and forcefully took their 12-day-old son from her, the police said, adding that he later strangled the baby to death.

The police said that there were visible marks of strangulation on the newborn's neck.

Following the incident, Anil was promptly arrested with a case filed against him.

Anil, during investigation, confessed to his crime, explaining that he had hoped for a daughter but was disappointed when a third son was born.

This disappointment led him to take this extreme and tragic action.
