Ahmad Dababesh, a Palestinian prisoner recently released from Ofer prison, was devastated to learn that his wife and daughter, along with other family members, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza during his imprisonment.
The tragic news was revealed to Dababesh after he and 31 other prisoners were freed and transported to the European Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where they were greeted by large crowds of supporters.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club, an advocacy group, released a statement confirming the physical and emotional toll on the freed prisoners.
