A deceased Palestinian woman’s body was discovered while she was holding the Holy Quran to her chest from under the rubble by rescue workers in Gaza after an Israeli attack.
A video filmed by journalist Hossam Shabat, circulated on social media, showing several rescue workers struggling to bring out the woman’s body while one worker removed the Holy Quran from her while her body was still inside the rubble.
With great difficulty, rescue team were able to take out the body of the elderly woman, who was probably reading the Holy Quan when an Israeli airstrike struck her.
The holy scripture had bloods spots while it was partially ripped. Journalist Hossam Shabat was heard saying in the video that rescue "took several hours."
Videos and pictures of horrific violence continue to surface on social media from Jabalia, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun, amid a communications blackout in the northern regions of Gaza due to relentless Israeli military offensives.
A senior medical official in Gaza revealed that the Israeli occupation army is using “internationally prohibited weapons” that cause the entire bodies to evaporate.
Northern Gaza is also experiencing severe starvation, as no aid carrying essential supplies has been able to enter the enclave since the start of October, according to the United Nations.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 43,686 with more than 100,833 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
