The Saudi Arabia authorities have announced that the Shawwal moon has not been sighted, meaning Eid will fall on Friday, 20 March.

Meetings were held at observatories across various cities to sight the moon, while the Saudi Supreme Court had also urged the public to participate in moon sighting.

However, no confirmed reports were received from anywhere in the Kingdom.

After reviewing all reports from observatories and moon sighting committees nationwide, the Supreme Court formally declared that Ramadan will complete 30 days, and Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Friday, 20 March 2026.

Accordingly, 1 Shawwal 1447 AH will fall on that day.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have also announced Eid on Friday.

Authorities in both countries held moon sighting meetings, and after the moon was not sighted, confirmed that 1 Shawwal 1447 AH will be observed on 20 March.
