Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Kingdom will provide 'monthly financial support' to Palestine, aiming to alleviate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and surrounding areas.
The move is in continuation of the "gracious care" shown by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the Palestinian people, according to the press release.
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announces the provision of monthly financial support to the Palestinian brothers," the Ministry stated.
The support seeks to address the "suffering caused by the Israeli occupation and its flagrant violations of international laws, including humanitarian law".
According to the Ministry, the Kingdom reaffirms the significant efforts of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in "communicating with the international community to cease hostilities, protect civilians, and deliver increased humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people."
"Saudi Arabia emphasises its leadership's commitment to finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, ensuring that the Palestinian people can obtain all their legitimate rights and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
"The Kingdom underscores its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, which remains a central and top priority," the Ministry noted.
Since the start of the crisis, Saudi Arabia has exerted every effort to alleviate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom has provided over $5.3 billion in humanitarian, relief, and development support to Palestine over the years.
"This effort resulted in several friendly countries recognising the State of Palestine, advocating for its full membership in the United Nations, and calling for an end to Israeli aggression and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza."
