The Israeli military dropped a bomb on a school in the centre of Gaza city, which was housing Palestinians displaced by relentless attacks by Tel Aviv.
According to local media, at least 8 people including three children were burned to death in the attack.
The bombing was carried out at the Abdel-Fanah Hammoud School in Gaza City’s Daraj area, the local media informed.
Several people were also injured in the strike in northern Gaza.
As per the details provided by local media, the Israeli military has also bombed the Asmaa School in the Beach camp, and a house belonging to the al-Zamili family in the Shujayea neighbourhood of Gaza City.
However, the casualties were not reported by the journalists present at the site.
A day earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a ceasefire with Hamas wouldn’t stop Israel’s military offensive in Gaza
“The goal is to return the kidnapped and uproot the Hamas regime in Gaza,” he said while talking to a local media
Netanyahu added that the intense phase of the military assault on Rafah is nearing its end but “it doesn’t mean that the war is about to end."
“After the intense phase is finished, we will have the possibility to move part of the forces north. And we will do this. First and foremost for defensive purposes. And secondly, to bring our [evacuated] residents home,” Netanyahu said.
“If we can, we will do this diplomatically. If not, we will do it another way. But we will bring [the residents] home."
At least 37,626 people have been killed and 86,098 wounded in Israel’s one-sided war on Gaza since October 7.
