The moon sighting committee in Saudi Arabia declared that the Shawwal crescent could not be sighted in the Kingdom today.

As a result, the holy month of Ramadan will continue until April 9, lasting 30 days. Eidul Fitr will, therefore, be observed on April 10.

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia had called on all Muslims across the Kingdom to sight the Shawwal crescent on the evening of Monday, Ramadan 29.

The sighting of the Shawwal moon marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eidul Fitr.

The sighting of the Shawwal moon marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eidul Fitr.

Earlier it was reported that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are expected to celebrate the festival of Eidul Fitr on the same day, April 10 (Wednesday), as there is no chance of moon sighting in the Kingdom today (Monday).

On the other hand, the first day of Eidul Fitr in Pakistan is expected to fall on April 10, as the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on April 9 (Tuesday).

The Pakistan Metrological Department (PDM), in its advisory, said the moon would be born on April 8 at 11:21pm in Pakistan.
