A 15-year-old boy lost his life after a fake doctor attempted to operate on him by watching YouTube videos, it emerged on Monday.
According to Indian media, the boy, named Krishna Kumar, was initially taken to Ganpati Hospital in Bihar's Saran area after complaining of vomiting several times.
Following the initial treatment, the victim's condition was stable and the disease was cured.
However, the fake doctor, identified as Ajit Kumar Puri, insisted that an operation was required and performed the surgery after watching YouTube videos.
The boy's grandfather, Prasad Shah, said that the boy was feeling better after the vomiting stopped, but the doctor proceeded with the operation.
After the operation, the boy got severe pain and his health started deteriorating, he added.
When the family questioned the doctor, he responded arrogantly, asking, "Who is the doctor, you or me?"
The boy was later taken to a hospital in Patna but died en route. The family members alleged that the doctor and his staff abandoned the body at the hospital and fled the scene.
The police have registered an FIR and sent the body for post-mortem. A search is underway for the fake doctor and his staff.
