The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has partnered with Fazaa, a social organisation dedicated to supporting government employees, to offer a new program for young Emiratis planning to get married.
The agreement was signed by the Department of Community Development (DCD) - Abu Dhabi.
This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on young Emirati couples planning to tie the knot.
Under this program, soon-to-be-married couples can register with Fazaa to receive a range of benefits and services. These include discounts at various stores, car insurance, and personal accident compensation.
The program goes beyond financial support. Registered couples will also have access to pre-marital counseling, including mediation and psychological services, offered at the Medeem Center for Family Flourishing, opening later this year.
Once registered and holding a Medeem Gold Card, engaged couples can enjoy huge discounts on various wedding services.
This includes expenses related to the wedding hall, stage decor (kosha), photography, lighting, sound, music, decorations, flowers, the bride's dress, and more.
Discounts will also extend to hotels, property, furniture, jewelry, and travel expenses.
"The Medeem Card provides a comprehensive package of exclusive benefits and offers for registered citizens, particularly those planning to get married and are actively involved with the Medeem Center for Family Flourishing," stated Lt Colonel Ahmed Bouharoun Al Shamsi.
The specific eligibility criteria for enrolling in the Medeem Family Preparation Centre and obtaining a Medeem Card will be announced at the launch of the Medeem Center for Family Flourishing.
