A group of US mountain climbers converged on Yosemite National Park in California to raise their voices against Israel's genocide in Gaza.

The "Climbers With Palestine" group scaled the iconic 3,000-ft El Capitan rock formation, unfurling a massive banner that read "Stop the Genocide" for all to see.

The climbers aimed to draw attention to Israel's atrocities in Gaza, which they condemned as a 'genocide'.

“We’re taking our message to the most iconic climb in the most-visited valley in one of the most-visited national parks,” said Emily Weinstein, a Jewish American writer who lives in Berkeley and co-founder of the climbing group.

“We want to use the space and scale of Yosemite to spread our message,” he added.

“We are using our climbing skills to demand an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the brutal apartheid of its occupation of Palestine,” said Miranda Oakley, Palestinian American professional climber and guide.

The death toll of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has reached 37,372, with at least 85,452 people injured in Israeli attacks since October 7.
