US teen sets Guinness world records for largest feet and hands

A 16-year-old boy in the US has set two world records for his extraordinary height and unusually large hands and feet, as recognised by the Guinness World Records.

Standing at 6’10 inches, Eric Kilburn holds the title for the largest hands and feet among living teenagers.

Eric owns 23 pairs of shoes that measure 13.5 inches, considerably larger than the average shoe size for his age group.

His hands span 9.13 inches, much bigger than the average hand size for teens, which is around 7.4 inches.

"People are usually amazed and feel comfortable starting conversations with me about the size of my feet and hands. I meet lots of interesting people this way," Eric told Guinness.

However, Eric's remarkable height and physique have presented unique challenges.

Since the fifth grade, Eric has consistently been larger than his classmates. He faced difficulty finding well-fitting shoes.

He became more aware of his condition as he grew older and faced further challenges due to his physique. 

Doctors told his family that custom-made shoes would cost over $1,500, a price they couldn't afford.

For two years, Eric resorted to wearing Crocs, which caused him injuries, including ingrown toenails, painful calluses, and blisters.

His oversized feet also made it impossible for him to play football with his friends, especially after suffering a high ankle sprain.

Fortunately, Eric’s story caught the attention of major brands like Under Armour and Reebok. With the help of basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, known for his own towering stature, they designed custom shoes that fit Eric properly.

"I want to help people the same way I was helped when I needed it," Eric said.

“Being in the Guinness World Records book still feels surreal,” he shared, adding, “To go from reading the book to being featured in the 2025 edition is something I never imagined could happen.”
