VIDEO: Elderly man dies while returning home in northern Gaza

An elderly Palestinian, who had been displaced, has reportedly passed away from exhaustion while attempting to return to his residence in northern Gaza, as captured in a video.

On Monday, displaced Palestinians in Gaza commenced their return to the northern Gaza Strip for the first time since the onset of the conflict, following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

The Gaza Health Ministry has indicated that around 650,000 displaced individuals from the central and southern regions of Gaza are anticipated to return to their homes in the northern part of the enclave.

Israel opened a corridor into the north of the Gaza Strip on Monday, 48 hours later than initially planned. It blamed the delay on Hamas, saying the militant group breached the terms of the ceasefire agreement that guaranteed people would be able to return to the north.

People were overjoyed as they started returning to their land after a long time.
