Venezuelan citizen Juan Vicente Perez Mora, who was recognised as the world's oldest living person by Guinness World Records in 2022, passed away at the age of 114.

The deceased was officially named as the world's oldest man on February 4, 2022, at the age of 112 years and 253 days.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed the news of his demise on microblogging platform ‘X’.

Known as Tio Vicente, Juan Vicente Perez Mora, was born on May 27, 1909, in the town of El Cobre, in the Andean state of Táchira. He was the ninth of eleven siblings.

According to media reports, Juan was the father of 11 children and had 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Juan was a farmer by profession and began working in the fields alongside his father and brothers at the age of five.
