Negligence Took Another Innocent Life in KARACHI

Karachi: A young child lost his life after falling into an open well in the Islam Pura area of Ramswami, Karachi, in a tragic incident that has raised concerns over public safety.

According to the victim's uncle, the family learned about the incident nearly half an hour after the child had fallen into the well. He said local residents were reluctant to jump in because the well was extremely deep.

The uncle claimed that rescue teams arrived approximately two and a half hours later, by which time the child had already drowned nearly 50 feet below the water's surface.

He said local residents attempted to carry out the rescue on their own before emergency responders arrived. One man tried to enter the well but was forced to return because he was unable to breathe.

According to the uncle, three rescue personnel later entered the well. Two came back, while the third descended wearing the necessary safety equipment and eventually recovered the child's body.

Expressing his grief, the victim's uncle said, "allah per chordia hai,hamara bacha chala gaya hai,hamari hukoomat se koi appeal nai."

A local resident said that three children were returning home from a madrasa when the incident occurred. According to his account, one child jumped into the well, a second child was somehow rescued, and the third ran away from the scene.

According to the report, one of the children informed others that the first child had drowned.

The victim's grandfather called for preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future, saying, "ye jo hadsa hua hai,kisi aur ke sath na ho,ye band hojana chahiye."

Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, while residents have urged officials to secure or seal open wells to prevent further loss of life.
