Bahawalpur authorities set up Pink toilets for women travellers along major highways

In first phase, five, six and ten fuel stations have been selected for the facility in Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur districts, respectively.

"Separate toilets for women are not available along major roads in the country and women have to use general toilets by compromising on hygiene and privacy," the commissioner said while talking to a private publication.

Therefore, Punjab government had ordered divisional and district administrations to set up separate toilets for women in their respective jurisdictions.

The authorities will also provide necessary supplies such as soap, hand wash, tissue papers and round-the-clock cleanliness, for which users will have to pay a small fee.
