In a bizarre incident, a newly-wed bride stole gold and other valuables from her husband's house in Pakistan's largest province, Punjab, police said on Thursday.

According to police, the shocking incident happened in Pakpattan city of CM Maryam Nawaz-led province.

Police said the suspect, identified as Saima, mixed a liquid spray in her husband's, Iqbal Hussain, milk to make him unconscious.

The suspect fled with gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1.2 million from the house, police added.

Police informed that the victim was shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

However, the First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Saima and four others in a theft case.

The law enforcers are conducting raids to arrest the suspects involved in the scam.
