Amidst a wave of mass protests led by pro-Palestine students, American universities have been rocked by demonstrations, prompting law enforcement authorities to respond with force and arrests.

The Gaza encampment, initiated by students, aims to condemn the ongoing atrocities in Palestine and calls for university administrations to sever ties with Israeli companies.

Videos depicting police violence against demonstrators at US universities, as well as scenes of pro-Israel counter-protestors disrupting protests and inciting students with threats and abuse, have been widely circulated on social media.

In an attempt to provoke demonstrators at the University of California, Los Angeles, individuals supporting Israel played recordings of crying children to incite the pro-Palestine protesters.

Overnight, a violent clash erupted between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters. Zionists demolished barricades and inflicted harm on protesters using metal pipe, and pepper spray. Fireworks were also thrown into the encampment.

Following the outbreak of violence against the Gaza war protest encampment, UCLA cancelled classes and the administration released a statement denouncing the incidents.

The US government has turned a blind eye to the grave human rights abuses being committed by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and providing them with funds.

The US House of Representatives recently approved a bill to curb “anti-Semitism” at university campuses.

The bill will penalize criticism of Israel and cancel funding for universities perceived as sympathetic to the pro-Palestinian cause.

Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza confirmed in a press release on Wednesday that the death toll from Israeli atrocities has reached 34,568.
