An American influencer faced criticism on social media after posting a video of herself showcasing her dress and twirling while mentioning that she was getting ready to attend her baby's funeral.

Recently, Karissa Widder posted a video on her Instagram account, accompanied by the caption, "Getting ready for my baby's funeral, the same place I got ready for my wedding."

Karissa was seen posing in front of the camera, wearing a polka-dot frock.

“We had her celebration of life where we got married. No better place to celebrate our girl,” her post read.

Karissa's daughter passed away last month, just two days after her birth. She has been sharing her journey of grief and loss on her Instagram account.

In one video, her baby can be seen lying in an incubator, with oxygen and other tubes connected to her.

However, Karissa's recent post at her baby's funeral drew backlash from netizens, who perceived it as insensitive given the tragic circumstances of her life.

Karissa's Instagram account boasts 23.5K followers, and her recent controversial video garnered 12 million views.

The video, shared on Reddit, sparked criticism from social media users, with some questioning whether people have lost their sense of decency and empathy for the sake of likes and comments.

Other users defended her arguing that everyone copes with grief differently and that Karissa has been openly sharing her journey with her followers for a while.

The influencer turned off comments on her post and reacted to the backlash on her Instagram story.

“These comments are savage hahah,” she wrote.

“Sorry to the haters that I still smile and get dressed. So crazy, I know,” she added.

In another story, Karissa said that her baby's funeral ceremony was "sad" after which a reception was arranged to “celebrate that she is in heaven.”
