Gold prices surge in Pakistan following international trend

The price of 24-karat gold in Pakistan rose by Rs.2,300 per tola, reaching Rs.288,700 on Wednesday, up from Rs.286,400 on the previous trading day, according to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs.1,972 to Rs.247,513 from Rs.245,541, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold saw an uptick to Rs.226,895 from Rs.225,087.
Silver prices also experienced an increase, with per tola silver rising by Rs.28 to Rs.3,391 and 10 grams of silver climbing by Rs.24 to Rs.2,907.
The upward trend in local prices followed a surge in the international gold market, where the price increased by $22, reaching $2,763 per ounce from the previous $2,741.
Meanwhile, gold prices in Saudi Arabia also reflected a similar trend. The 24-karat gold rate stood at 3,876 Saudi Riyals (SAR) per tola on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold was reported at SAR 3,327, while an ounce of gold was valued at SAR 10,347, according to data from Forex.pk.
The increase in gold prices in both local and international markets comes amid ongoing global economic fluctuations, affecting precious metal rates worldwide.
