YouTuber Rajab Butt found himself embroiled in controversy once again after a citizen filed a petition seeking the registration of an FIR against him for allegedly using derogatory language about companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in one of his vlogs during the Islamic month of Muharram.
The petitioner, Shehzada Adnan, was represented by his legal counsel Mudassar Chaudhry, who argued in the plea that Rajab Butt had made disrespectful remarks against revered religious figures.
The counsel further informed the court that a request had already been submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for the registration of a case against Rajab Butt. However, no FIR has been lodged so far.

The plea urged the court to direct the authorities to take legal action and formally implicate Rajab Butt in the matter.
In response, an Additional Sessions Judge issued a notice to the relevant authorities and directed them to submit a formal reply.
Earlier, a religious seminary based in Lahore had issued a fatwa, calling on the government to take a legal action against Rajab Butt and impose a ban his appearance on digital and electronic media platforms.
