Investigations are still underway into the mysterious death of model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered in a flat in Defence Phase 6 earlier this month.

According to officials, nine samples from Humaira’s body were sent to the forensic lab at the University of Karachi. Police have now received the chemical examination report, which indicates no traces of poison were found in her system.

DIG South stated that the official cause of death will be announced by the medico-legal officer (MLO) on Friday.

It should be noted that Humaira’s body was recovered on July 8 from an apartment in the Ittehad Commercial area.

The discovery was made when a court bailiff, acting on the landlord's petition over unpaid rent, arrived at the flat. After repeated knocks went unanswered, the door was forcibly opened, revealing the actress's body.

The initial post-mortem report stated that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting that Humaira Asghar may have died approximately eight months ago.
