Renowned actor Danish Taimoor dismissed his Ramadan show co-host, Rabia Anum Obaid, after she brought up online criticism regarding his remarks on multiple marriages.

The debate on polygamy has stirred discussions in showbiz and on social media, with critics emphasising that Islam permits multiple marriages only under specific conditions and that it should not be taken for granted.

At the center of this controversy is Danish Taimoor, whose comments about polygamy did not sit well with many. He was criticised for seemingly boasting about his right to marry four wives while sitting next to his spouse, actress Ayeza Khan.

As his statement went viral and faced backlash, Rabia Anum Obaid brought up the controversy in a lighthearted manner during a discussion on polygamy with Danish and a cleric on their Ramadan show.

"People are telling me to ask Danish why he made such comments," she remarked during the conversation.

Danish, appearing unimpressed, responded, "Why are people saying that to you?" before adding, "You care a lot about people."

To this, Rabia replied, "Yes, I do care about people because we are here because of our fans."

However, Danish firmly rebuffed her, saying, "No, we are not here because of people, but only because of Allah."
