Naeema Butt gets trolled over 'mean' comments about Hania Aamir

Actress Naeema Butt faced online trolling after making what many deemed 'unnecessary' and 'mean' remarks about co-star Hania Aamir during an appearance on a sports show.

The controversy began  when Naeema failed to identify Hania Aamir in a Ghibli-style caricature. However, a sports analyst recognised the actress at first sight.

Despite another guest pointing out that the picture was of a TV actress, Naeema struggled to recognise the image.

The program host Waseem Badami expressed surprise and reminded Naeema that she recently starred together with Hania in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, a project widely appreciated by fans.

Naeema Butt stood by her remarks, maintaining, “I don’t know Hania Amir very well, "I don’t know Hania Aamir very well, although I have worked with her. Just because you have worked in a drama with someone doesn’t mean you know them personally.”

When the host pointed out that the question was based on facial features alone, not personal knowledge, she added, “I don’t observe people that much; I’m sorry.”

Nonetheless, Butt was unable to escape the backlash from fans, who criticised her for what they perceived as deep-seated grudges against Hania.

Many said that "Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum" was the project that propelled her to fame, and others remarked that she is still embodying her character Rubab in real life.

"She is still playing rubab character in her real life...Stop that attitude girl!!"  one Instagram user wrote,

Another commented, "Now i can understand how she played the role of rubab really well."

Others labeled her remarks as “insecure” and "mean" with one critic commenting, "She has a pretty insecure personality," anotehr citics said.
