UK Parliament honours Bushra Ansari’s contributions to drama industry

The British Parliament honoured Pakistan’s legenary actress Bushra Ansari for her exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry and her commendable efforts in social causes, making her the first drama actress to receive the prestigious Award of Recognition.
The ceremony, hosted by MP Yasmin Qureshi, was organized by the British Asian Society and Samara Events UK. It also paid tribute to Bushra Ansari’s remarkable performances on television, which have made her one of Pakistan’s most celebrated and influential artists.
Several prominent figures, including MP Afzal Khan, A. Haq (Chairman of the British Asian Society), Maria Soraya, and Amal Hafeez, attended the event, along with community leaders, artists, and admirers of the veteran actress.

During her speech, Ansari highlighted the pivotal role of Pakistani dramas in promoting the country's culture, traditional attire, and the Urdu language, not only in the UK but also across the world.
Expressing her gratitude for the recognition, Bushra Ansari dedicated the award to fellow artists and storytellers who have worked tirelessly to showcase Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage.

“It is a privilege to receive this honor in such a prestigious setting,” she said.
MP Yasmin Qureshi praised Bushra Ansari’s decades-long career, acknowledging her role in popularising Pakistani cultural heritage and inspiring future generations to follow in her footsteps.
Before Bushra Ansari, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa had also been recognised by the UK Parliament for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
