Lahore police attempted to detain a group of women returning from Umrah after mistakenly identifying them as PTI workers.

In the video which is said to be of Lahore's Batti Chowk, women are seen being detained by women police, who were mistakenly identifying as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters.

During the arrest women resisted and kept on showing their passports and tickets of return from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah, but the police initially refused to accept their documents.

Following a brief exchange and some resistance from the women, a senior officer verified their passports and subsequently allowed them to leave.

Earlier, an attempted arrest of a plainclothes policeman in Faizabad was quickly halted when the officer identified himself by showing his police ID card in Faziabad during PTI protest.

The incident unfolded when the officer, who was not in uniform, was approached by authorities attempting to take him into custody.

The situation was resolved once the policeman displayed his credentials, clarifying his identity.
