Man arrested for throwing Pangolin into floodwaters in Narowal

Lahore: The Punjab Wildlife Department has traced and arrested a suspect who threw a rare and protected pangolin into the floodwaters of Nala Dek and posted the video on TikTok.
According to the report, a wildlife ranger apprehended the accused from Qila Ahmadabad, Narowal district, and registered a case against him.
The pangolin, a highly endangered species, is protected under national and international conservation laws.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb strongly condemned the incident, stating that those involved in cruelty towards wildlife will face strict punishment under the law. She emphasized that all legal requirements are being completed on an urgent basis.
The minister further said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is committed to ensuring the protection of Pakistan’s precious wildlife through strict monitoring and effective conservation policies.
