In light of extreme weather conditions and predicted rains, the Sindh government has extended the summer vacations of colleges across the province, including Karachi.

A notification was issued at the direction of the Minister of Education, Sardar Ali Shah.

According to the notification, the vacations are extended till August 14.

The order will be effective for the colleges run under the administrative control of the Colleges Education Department of Sindh, the notification read.

“However, the co-curricular activities regarding the Independence Day celebration shall be organised in its letter and spirit,” it added.

Previously, the provincial government had announced summer vacations until August 1.

Earlier, the provincial department had decided to extend summer vacations of the schools in the province until August 14 due to the prevailing weather conditions.

The extension of holidays is a precautionary measure taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students and teaching staff amidst the ongoing hot weather.
