Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko hosted a special dinner at his private farmhouse in honor of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on a two-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation.

He was warmly received at the airport by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and senior Belarusian officials. Officers from the Pakistani embassy in Belarus were also present to welcome the premier and his delegation.

The delegation included PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and Punjab’s Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Later in the day, President Lukashenko hosted a luncheon in honor of the visiting dignitaries. The gathering was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and other senior officials.

Nawaz Sharif’s son, Hassan Nawaz, and Maryam Nawaz’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, were also introduced to President Lukashenko during the meeting.

President Lukashenko expressed great warmth and affection toward both Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif.

“This is the first country we are visiting together,” said Nawaz Sharif to President Lukashenko, adding, “I was personally eager to visit Belarus.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Victory Square in Minsk, where he laid a floral wreath in tribute to soldiers who lost their lives during World War II.
