JI pledges to seek justice for Malir Halt victims

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Emir, Munim Zafar Khan said the worsening traffic situation in Karachi, attributing the rise in fatal accidents to illegal heavy traffic and government inefficiency. 

He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami would raise its voice against this injustice at every level and ensure that the affected family receives justice.

The statement follows a horrific accident near Malir Halt, where a speeding water tanker ran over a motorcycle-riding family.

The tragic incident resulted in the immediate death of the husband and his pregnant wife, while the newborn, delivered during the accident, also succumbed shortly after.

Eyewitnesses were left in shock and grief at the devastating scene.

 According to the police, the tanker driver has been arrested, and the vehicle has been taken into custody.

Preliminary investigations suggest that brake failure may have been the cause of the accident.

The couple tied the knot last year, and they were expecting their first baby, who was born moments after the accident but did not survive., the deceased elder brother added. 

The deceased brother also appealed to the government to take action against the tanker Mafia, “at least three more bodies of accident victims have been shifted to the mortuary,” he said, adding, “Please, they should restrict to running before midnight.”
