Kamran Qureshi, the father of the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir case, was remanded into police custody for illegal possession of weapons and narcotics. He was presented before a judicial magistrate on Friday.

The court granted a two-day physical remand upon the investigation officer's request.

Qureshi's lawyer alleged that the AVCC obstructed his access to his client, despite court orders allowing the meeting.

In a recent video statement, he maintained that his son, Armaghan, should be punished if found guilty of murdering 23-year-old BBA student Mustafa.

Kamran, who had been aggressively defending his son, stated that new evidence emerging in the case had led him to leave the matter to the court to decide his son's fate.

He also offered an apology to the slain Mustafa Amir's mother.

In an earlier video, Kamran Qureshi also apologised to the media and journalists for his aggressive behavior during interviews.
