The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi Police arrested Armaghan’s father, Kamran Asghar Qureshi from his residence over his alleged involvement in drug peddling, an official said.
Senior Superintended Police (SSP) AVCC Aneel Haider confirmed his arrest, stating that Kamran Qureshi, father of the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, was arrested from his residence in Karachi’s DHA phase V, Khayaban-e-Momin.
He added that Kamran was suspected of running a drug business in the city and was apprehended as a result of an AVCC police raid on his house.
Earlier, a special public prosecutor in the Mustafa Amir murder case directed the police on Monday to investigate Armaghan's father, Kamran Qureshi, and check his criminal record.

The prosecutor directed that the mobile phones of Armaghan, Mustafa, and his mother should be made part of the case property. The bank accounts, phone data, and travel history of the accused and the victim should also be obtained.
In the guidelines, the Special Public Prosecutor asked to inform the purpose of the letter written to the SSP Hub for transferring the case registered in Hub to Karachi.
On March 5, a team from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Anti-Money Laundering Cell reached the residence of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa murder case, for investigation but had to leave without success as the house remained locked.
