Karachi to receive two monsoon rain spells next week: PMD

Karachi is expected to receive two spells of monsoon rain in the upcoming week starting from July 29, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said on Friday.

“The monsoon winds are present on the Indian coast of Gujrat, which would enter Sindh until the end of July," he said while talking to a private news channel.

The weatherman predicted that the metropolis would receive heavy rain coupled with thunderstorm under the system.

“The rain from the system is likely to continue for two days from July 29 to 31,” Sarfaraz added.

According to the chief officer PMD, another monsoon system is likely to enter Karachi on August 3, which would cause heavy rain in the port city.

Outskirts of Karachi will witness light rain and drizzle at night, the weather expert added.
