Karachi is expected to experience another dry and cold day, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast on Thursday. However, residents of the port city may find some relief as the intense cold is anticipated to ease by tonight.

The Met Office recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C last night, with temperatures expected to remain between 8°C and 10°C over the next 24 hours.

Sharing weather details, the PMD reported that light winds were blowing from the northeast with a humidity level of 81%.

Meanwhile, some parts of Sindh experienced notably lower temperatures. The mercury dropped to 0°C in Mithi, while Mohenjo-Daro recorded a chilling -1°C, with the possibility of even colder temperatures by tonight.

Earlier, Karachi witnessed an exceptionally cold night on Tuesday, with temperatures plummeting to 3.5°C, according to weathercaster Jawad Memon.

A weather advisory shared on Wednesday stated that the northwestern and suburban areas in Karachi recorded temperatures ranging from 3.5°C to 4°C last night.

Meanwhile, the mercury dropped from 5°C to 7°C in the central and southern areas of the city.

According to the report, icy winds blowing from Balochistan further intensified the cold wave in Karachi.
