KP decides to build 'Quran Mahal' to preserve old copies of Holy Quran

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to build a Quran Mahal in Peshawar to collect and preserve old copies of the Holy book.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs department, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the administrative and financial affairs of Auqaf, as well as the lease policy for waqf properties.
CM Gandapur directed officials to collect old scripts of the Holy Quran and instructed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to allocate land for the construction of Quran Mahal, which should be built in accordance with Islamic architecture.
Additionally, the CM announced plans to celebrate the Rahmatun Lil Alameen (SAW) conference across the province.
Events will be held in Peshawar as well as in all divisional districts of the province.
The PTI stalwart allocated funds of Rs5 million for the provincial-level conference, Rs2 million for divisional-level conferences, and Rs1 million for district-level conferences.
The KP CM also decided to hold a Ulema conference at the official level.
Furthermore, CM Gandapur directed authorities to identify suitable land for a graveyard in Peshawar city.
The meeting also resolved to establish an asset management unit in the Auqaf department to improve the management and maintenance of its properties, map its assets across the province, and better follow up on court cases related to the department's properties.
