The high-profile murder case of Mustafa Amir remains pending, with charges yet to be framed against the accused even six months after the submission of the challan.
According to details, the victim’s mother, Wajiha Amir, has approached the Sindh High Court against the prolonged delay in the commencement of trial.
A hearing on the petition filed by Wajiha Amir, the complainant in the Mustafa Amir murder case, was held at the Sindh High Court.
During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the case had remained stalled following the death of the judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) 16. After the case was transferred to ATC 6, the Sindh government carried out restructuring of the anti-terrorism courts.
As a result of the restructuring, ATC 6 was converted into an anti-narcotics court, which further delayed the proceedings. The lawyer argued that the continued delay in the case was against the principles of justice.
The court approved the transfer of the Mustafa Amir murder case and directed that it be assigned a new number. The accused, Armaghan and Shiraz, are currently in jail.
