The Foreign Office (FO) on Friday strongly objected to the Indo-US joint statement against Pakistan, calling it “one-sided, misleading, and contrary to diplomatic norms.” Pakistan declared that the statement could not divert global attention from India’s reality.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said in a weekly briefing that despite Pakistan’s counterterrorism cooperation with the US, it was still mentioned in the statement.
According to FO's reponse, this reference could neither cover up India’s sponsorship of terrorism, subversion and extrajudicial assassinations in the region and beyond.
Nor it can distract international attention from the stark reality of India that has become a safe haven for perpetrators of hate crimes against Muslims and other minorities.
“The joint statement fails to address India’s non-compliance with UN Security Council resolutions, which is a key source of tension and instability in the region, nor does it take cognizance of the grim human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” noted the Foreign Office in its statement.

Pakistan also expressed regret over the violations of international and human rights laws by India with impunity.
Pakistan reiterated its commitment to constructively contribute to the region and global efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and vowed to fight against terrorism to its logical conclusion.
Spokeperson Shafqat Ali Khan also conveyed that Pakistan expressed disapproval of the intended transfer of sophisticated military technologies to India, as it could create military imbalances in the region and threaten strategic stability.
The FO spokesperson called on international partners to adopt a comprehensive and unbiased perspective on the matters of peace and security in South Asia, urging them to avoid supporting positions that are one-sided and disconnected from the actual circumstances.

Pakistan raised concerns over the deaths of Kashmiri youth in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after severe torture, which were falsely being labeled as suicides with coerced confessions of militant links.
Pakistan urged an investigation of the increasing suicide cases among the Kashmiri youth and demanded to hold the culprits accountable.
